Sip Snapshot from Belford & Co

The Gael represents the revival of Irish whiskey bonding and celebrates blended Irish whiskey. It consists of some of the oldest and rarest single malts from the J.J. Corry flavour library. They collaborated with a second-generation cooper in Montilla, Spain, to develop a diverse library of sherry flavours for future batches of The Gael. Each sherry cask is shipped intact to the McGuane family farm, allowing the casks to retain their character and flavour after being emptied of sherry. This richness influences the whiskey maturing inside. The Gael is their multi-award-winning flagship release, having received numerous gold medals at the Ultimate Spirits Challenge and the World Whiskies Awards. Unmistakably Irish, The Gael beautifully reflects the harmonious blending of flavours that defines the art of Irish whiskey bonding. NOSE: An immediate hit of Irish Whiskey's signature orchard fruits - with a suggestion of ripe red apple but dominated by white peaches and apricots. Floral notes, hints of freshly cut lawns and Douglas Fir dance around those stone fruits. PALATE: Orange hard candy develops into candied orange peel, before giving way to cooked stone-fruit flavours: apricot frangipane tart and peach cobbler. BLEND BREAKDOWN: 50% Malt 50% Grain. CASK TYPES: Oloroso & PX hogshead, Bourbon.
