Master Blend 100's is a selection of the very finest Grande Champagne blends in the Tesseron cellar, Cognacs that were put aside by the company's founder, Abel Tesseron, in the second half of the 19th century. What you will find in this bottle comes from 4 demijohns 25 litre heavy glass flagons that preserve old Cognac eaux-de-vies and have attained optimum maturity. The lot year on these demijohns is 1865.
As for the Masterblend 100, this Cognac would have been distilled from many grape varieties that were planted and flourished pre phylloxera. Certainly Ugni Blanc, Colombard and Folle Blanche, but others as well. Only 143 bottles were produced of this window into a bygone era.
Appearance: Deep mahogany with luminous highlights.
Nose: A symphony of century-old eaux-de-vie, offering notes of rich toffee, sandalwood, antique leather, and exotic spices.
Palate: Incredibly refined and powerful, with flavours of roasted nuts, dark chocolate, aged tobacco, and dried figs, balanced by an ethereal smoothness.
Finish: Infinite, with waves of nutty complexity, rancio, and delicate spice.
Overall: A one-of-a-kind masterpiece, blending some of Tesseron's oldest reserves for a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
