Se Busca Reposado represents a contemporary approach to Oaxacan mezcal, designed to highlight both agave and oak with clarity and balance. Produced in San Juan del Rio - a region with deep mezcal tradition - this spirit is crafted from 100% Espadin agave, matured to full ripeness and roasted in classic underground pit ovens. The cooked agave is tahona-crushed and open-fermented with wild yeast, ensuring a full range of natural flavours before double distillation in copper pot stills.
The spirit then rests up to ten months in American oak barrels. This controlled ageing builds complexity, layering in vanilla, toasted oak, and gentle spice, but never hides the mezcal's distinctive earth, roasted agave, and subtle smoke. On the nose, Se Busca Reposado shows sweet agave, caramel, and dried citrus, supported by measured oak and a faint thread of smoke. The palate is structured - balancing agave-driven sweetness, pepper, and baking spice - finishing long and clean with just enough oak tannin for grip.
