A playfully named local gin with serious depth. The Lobo “Djinn” is distilled in South Australia with a lush garden of botanicals — including a whisper of quince and native notes that lean into the Hills’ cool-climate terroir. This isn’t your juniper-jacked London Dry — it’s delicate, layered, and slightly mischievous.
On the nose, you get the whole orchard: pear skin, citrus leaf, fresh-cut herbs, and that unmistakable flick of resinous juniper. But there’s more — floral top notes, a lick of green apple, and a base of coriander and cracked pepper.
The palate is clean and slightly oily in texture — bright citrus zest, pine needle, cardamom, and sweet spice mingle with apple acidity and a hint of pear blossom. The quince adds a rounded fruit character that’s subtly exotic — less sweet than you expect, more complex than it lets on.
Mid-palate you get a gin that walks the tightrope — dry and structured, but playful and expressive. It works in a Martini with a lemon twist, but also sings with soda, tonic, or even as a base for a savoury Gimlet.
The finish is lifted and herbal — like walking through a garden after rain. Djinn is gin made by orchard hands, not alchemists — and it shows, in all the best ways.
